Sociomentis
UX, UI, Branding and IdentitySociomentis is an innovative sentiment analysis tool designed to help organizations understand their users’ and customers’ sentiments towards their products by analyzing social media feeds. As a first-of-its-kind product, this project presented unique challenges and opportunities to create a user experience from the ground up.
Challenges
Pioneering Product: As a new product with no direct market references, creating an intuitive and effective user experience required extensive research and innovative thinking.
Complexity of Data: The tool needed to simplify the presentation of complex sentiment data, making it accessible and actionable for users.
No Precedent: With no similar products available, the design process had to be entirely original, necessitating frequent brainstorming sessions with stakeholders.
My Approach
1. Extensive Research and Collaboration:
Stakeholder Engagement: Led brainstorming sessions with Product Owners, Managers, and Partners to gather insights and align on goals.
User Research: Conducted comprehensive user research to understand potential user needs and behaviors, which informed the development of user personas and journey maps.
Competitive Analysis: Even without direct competitors, I analyzed adjacent markets and tools to identify potential design patterns and pitfalls.
2. Structured Design Process:
User Experience Design: Followed a meticulous UX design process, starting with user research and analysis, creating journey maps and user personas, and defining the overall app flow.
Information Architecture: Defined the structure and navigation, ensuring logical task grouping and a coherent visual language across the product.
Dashboard Design: Developed a one-page dashboard view that allowed users to see all critical product comparisons on the home screen, simplifying their interaction with complex data.
3. Visual and Interaction Design:
Simplification: Focused on simplifying user interactions, making the tool accessible even to those unfamiliar with sentiment analysis.
Consistency: Maintained a consistent visual language throughout the product, ensuring a cohesive and user-friendly experience.
Outcome and Impact
While the NDA agreement restricts the sharing of detailed metrics, the successful launch of Sociomentis stands as a testament to the effectiveness of the design. The product enabled organizations to better understand and act on user sentiments, providing a competitive edge in their respective markets. The innovative dashboard and user-centric design process were particularly well-received, demonstrating the value of a thoughtful and structured approach to UX design.
